Terms & Conditions


This Terms and Conditions (“Agreement”) is for MK Horizon, a UK-based freight
forwarding and cargo shipping company serving Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Somalia & Somaliland.

1. Introduction These Terms and Conditions govern all freight, cargo handling, and shipping
services (“Services”) provided by MK Horizon (“Company,” “we,” “our”). By submitting goods for
shipment, the customer (“Client,” “you,” “your”) agrees to the terms outlined herein.

2. Services Provided MK Horizon provides air freight, sea freight, consolidation, parcel services,
RoRo, and related logistics services. Service availability may vary depending on destination, cargo
type, and regulatory requirements.

3. Customer Responsibilities - Ensure all goods are lawful for export, transit, and import. -
Provide accurate and complete documentation. - Properly pack items to withstand handling and
transport. - Pay all applicable fees, duties, taxes, and service charges.

4. Prohibited and Restricted Items The Client must not tender prohibited goods including, but not
limited to: hazardous materials, perishable items, currency, explosives, controlled substances, or
any items restricted by UK or destination-country law.

5. Pricing & Payment Terms Rates are determined by cargo type, size, weight, and destination.
All charges must be paid in full before dispatch unless otherwise agreed in writing. Prices may be
adjusted in accordance with fuel, customs, or regulatory changes.

6. Liability & Insurance - MK Horizon’s liability is limited in accordance with international air and
maritime conventions. - The Company is not liable for delays caused by customs, weather
conditions, or third-party carriers. - Clients are encouraged to purchase cargo insurance for full
protection.

7. Transit Times & Delays Estimated transit times are not guaranteed. Delays outside the
Company’s control do not constitute grounds for compensation.

8. Collection & Delivery Collection and delivery services (if applicable) must be arranged in
advance. Clients must ensure goods are available at the agreed time and location.

9. Customs Clearance Clients authorise MK Horizon or its partners to act as an agent for customs
processing. Any customs fees or penalties arising from inaccurate declarations are the Client’s
responsibility.

10. Unclaimed or Abandoned Goods If goods remain unclaimed for more than 30 days after
arrival, the Company reserves the right to dispose of them or apply storage charges.

11. Dispute Resolution Any disputes should be submitted in writing within 7 days of issue
discovery. The governing law shall be that of England and Wales.

12. Amendments MK Horizon reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any
time. The latest version will be published on www.mkhorizon.co.uk/terms.

13. Acceptance By engaging MK Horizon’s Services, the Client acknowledges and agrees to these

Terms and Conditions.

14. All TV's and Glass are sent at owner's risk. Likewise, insufficiently packed goods.

15. Quoted delivery times are estimates and may vary.

16. Goods not picked up within seven days of delivery may be disposed off.

17. Goods are only to be presumed missing if not received within 2 months from the expected delivery date.

18. Goods can be insured at 25% of the cost price.

19. Compensation is only at 10% of the cost price.

20. Any claims of insured goods would only have to be supported by original purchase receipts.

21. Consignment sender declares that no articles containing dangerous good such as combustable liquid, gases, radioactive material, flammable liquids, or anything flammable or illegal in the UK and East Africa are shipped by him or her.

22. All terms & conditions are governed by the English law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
